One of the town’s main attractions is a world famous Victorian puppet theatre. Biggar also has  wonderful museums, including the Biggar Gasworks Museum, the only preserved gas works in Scotland and the Albion Museum, some of whose vehicles date back to 1899.  The town also hosts an annual arts festival, the Biggar Little Festival, every October and the Biggar Bonfire, an ancient custom that takes place on Hogmanay and dates back to pagan times.

Review by an Autism Family:  What a wonderful fantastic hotel and the staff are out of this world … they literally took us in as an emergency… as the place we were staying at… was not suitable at all for him and autism !!!! …We met up with others in our group and really they were beyond helpful !!!!!  Thank you for rescuing this single Swiss mommy with an autistic son and making my birthday holiday to Scotland so remarkable as well as a memorable one !!!!!!
