This page details a range of charities in the UK that provide holidays (or respite) for children who are disadvantaged through illness, disability, special needs or are underprivileged.

Serious Fun Network

Today, there are 30 free camps and programs around the world where kids could escape the fear and isolation of their medical conditions.

Barretstown Charity Ireland

Part of the Serious Fun Network this offers free, specially designed camps and programmes for children and their families living with a serious illness

Go Beyond (UK Charity)

Gives children who have been bereaved, abused or bullied, living in poverty or caring for loved ones time to chill out on a countryside break.

CCHF All About Kids

This charity helps young people to defy limitations through learning and adventures in the wild and will fund where needed.

Destination Florida

A Manchester-based children’s charity, taking kids with life-limiting medical conditions away for a once in a lifetime holiday.

Dreammakers Charity

Offers holidays to kids who are disabled, have special needs or are terminally ill or underprivileged.  They also have 2 fully accessible caravans.

The Family Fund, York

Provides grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people.

The Newman Holiday Trust

A voluntary organisation which provides summer holidays for children with special needs.

Radio Forth Cash for Kids'

For children with learning disabilities, mobility challenges etc. in Fife, Edinburgh etc.

Family Holiday Charity

This provides well deserved breaks for UK families struggling with issues such as disability, severe and sudden illness, bereavement, mental health issues and domestic violence.

Harriet Davis Trust, Tenby & Narbeth

Three houses in the Tenby area are fully adapted and equipped for physically disabled children and another,  in Narberth, is adapted for children with autism, SEND etc.

Warwickshire Private Hospital Trust

If you live in this area you might be eligible for funding for special needs and for specific projects such as holidays, school trips –  or access to educational tools or fun activities.

Heswall Disabled Children’s Fund

Hosts a free week-long camp each August for up to 30 children (aged 9-15 years) with physical disabilities, living in North West England.

Magic Moments for Autistic Kids

“Magic Moments“ has access to a beautiful 8 berth/3 bedroom caravan in Golden Palm resort at Skegness for weekends or even longer.

Childrens Hope Foundation based in London & Lurgan

This offers holidays for special needs families in a 3 bedroom caravan.  It has a ramp for wheelchair access though it has no other adaptions. 

Dreamflight

Dreamflight changes young lives by taking children with a serious illness or disability, without their parents, on the holiday of a lifetime to Orlando, Florida.

3H Foundation

We offer group holidays so that people with disabilities can holiday without theiir families while also enabling carers to have some time to themselves.

Mellor Country House

A UK charity, set in three acres of garden and woodland located in the pretty village of Mellor, offers low cost, self-catering holidays for low-income families.

Youth Hostel Ass.

Offers a bursary of up to 75% off Summer Camp prices for young people entitled to free school meals. Places are limited and provided on a first come first served basis. 

Holiday Homes Trust

 A national charity, offering low-cost self-catering caravan holidays for families dealing with a disability, special need, illness and/or low or single-income families. 

Amelia's Rainbow

Amelia’s Retreat offers short caravan breaks at Hoburne Naish holiday park in Hampshire to children with life limiting illnesses, and may help with accessible equipment too.
