Visiting The Eiffel Tower, Paris – Top Tips from Lizzie @ A Curious Journey

We visited Paris yesterday!

One of the reasons we chose a campsite near Paris was because the boys wanted to go up the Eiffel Tower. And they loved it (for about 5 minutes and then they wanted to come back down again 😂)

If you’re thinking of taking a trip to Paris with the kids, here are 3 tips for visiting the Eiffel Tower with additional needs:
1. Take proof of disability with you. We took our Disability Living Allowance award letters.
2. Show it to staff to avoid the queues. There are two or three queues depending on whether you already have a ticket – one to get into the grounds (which is free), another to buy tickets to go up the tower and another long one to go up the tower in the lift. We didn’t buy tickets in advance so I just showed our letters to members of staff to help buy tickets and avoid the queues (if the queues had been short we would have been ok but the boys would have lost the plot with the queues we saw)
3. There are discounted tickets for carers. This is a godsend for parents and carers of people with additional needs. It cost us ÂŁ17.20 instead of ÂŁ42.80 for our family of four to go to the second floor. The boys were really excited to go up the tower but within 5 minutes they wanted to come down again.
⭐️ Bonus tip: We got the no. 30 bus from the Arc de Triomph to the Eiffel Tower and got off at Trocadéro (instead of the Eiffel Tower stop itself) for arguably the best views.
